Manchester United appear to be in early talks over a deal for Axel Disasi.
The Monaco favourite is known to be on Erik ten Hag’s transfer radar this summer as he plots upgrades in central defence at Old Trafford.
Disasi now appears to be the chief alternative target to Kim Min-jae, who looks set to wrap up a move from Napoli to Bayern Munich.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United have already had “some contact” with the Frenchman’s camp but are yet to discuss terms with Monaco.

Arsenal hold Romeo Lavia talks
Arsenal remain hot on the trail of top target Declan Rice and could pair him with Romeo Lavia.
Mikel Arteta is known to want two top midfield signings this summer as the Gunners bid to repeat their Premier League title bid next term.
Lavia has excelled since joining Southampton from Manchester City last summer, despite the Saints suffering a miserable relegation last season.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal have a “concrete and strong” interest in the 19-year-old Belgian, with talks already held with the player’s camp.
Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to want Lavia, while City have a buy-back clause that only becomes active in 2024.
Chelsea step up Moises Caicedo bid
Chelsea are set to step up their bid for Moises Caicedo, reports claim.
The Brighton and Ecuador star, 21, is top of Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield agenda as he plots a significant squad overhaul in his first summer at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea appear to have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race for Caicedo, with the Daily Mail reporting that Chelsea will ramp up talks over the player this week having seen an initial £60m offer for his services rejected.
Brighton are said to be holding out for £80m for their most prized asset, having already lost Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool.
Arsenal get new Kai Havertz boost
Arsenal appear to be close to a huge deal for Chelsea’s Kai Havertz.
The Gunners emerged last week as major players in the race for the German international, with Real Madrid’s interest having waned.
Sky Sport in Germany now report that Havertz is about to seal a high-profile move across London to Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta boosted by the news that Bayern Munich’s interest in the player has come too late.
Man Utd and Spurs learn Goncalo Ramos fee

Agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly offered the Benfica striker around Europe with a very clear price tag on his head.
Among the teams tracking Ramos’ situation are Manchester United, Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle, so say The Sun.
Emile Smith Rowe speaks out on his future
Emile Smith Rowe has vowed to fight for his Arsenal career after rumours of a move away.
Mikel Arteta wants to keep the midfielder at the Emirates next season despite interest from Brighton.
“Arsenal are my club and I’m not going to give up until [Arteta] says he doesn’t want me,” he told The Times.
“But that’s not the case. He wants me as part of the team and I want to fight for my place and get back in the team.”
Leicester price tag for James Maddison putting off Spurs

Newcastle and Tottenham are both unwilling to meet the Foxes’ price tag, according to Northern Echo.
Maddison will cost £60m even though his contract expires in a year’s time.
Romelu Lukaku only has eyes for Inter
Romelu Lukaku has told Chelsea he only wants to sign for Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri have seen a loan bid for the Belgian striker rejected after he spent this season on a temporary deal back at the Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter also want Kalidou Koulibaly on loan next year.
However, Chelsea have rejected the bids as they look to seal a permanent sale.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report on Lukaku being determined to re-sign for Inter.
Arsenal turn down Alexis Sanchez reunion

Kylian Mbappe delivers update on future
Kylian Mbappe has once again spoken of his plans to snub a move to Real Madrid this summer.
With only a year left on his PSG contract, the Frenchman told Telefoot that he is calm over his future.
“I have already said that I will stay at Paris Saint-Germain Germain and I said it before all this happened,” he stated.
“Next year I’ll play for PSG, that’s what I said. There are many things that can happen in a year, especially in a club like PSG.”
