The Gunners have once again headed across the Atlantic for another summer Stateside trip that will also include high-profile clashes with Manchester United and Liverpool in Los Angeles and Philadelphia respectively, before their top-flight opener against Wolves is also preceded by home meetings with Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon in the Emirates Cup.

Bournemouth began their pre-season campaign in Santa Barbara at the weekend, with Marcos Senesi’s goal rescuing a 1-1 draw with third-tier Wrexham.

The Cherries will hope to build upon an impressive first season under the management of Andoni Iraola in which they finished 12th following the shock sacking of Gary O’Neil.

This is Bournemouth’s last game in the US before they return home for meetings with LaLiga duo Rayo Vallecano and Girona in advance of their Premier League opener away at Nottingham Forest on August 17.

Arsenal will be raring to go on their US tour as they look to rebound from last season’s heartbreaking title near-miss.

While they are not at full-strength in California and Bournemouth are now a real force to be reckoned with under Iraola, they will relish the chance to make a winning start ahead of huge matches against Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Gunners have well and truly had the Cherries’ number in recent times and though pre-season games are notoriously unpredictable, we’re expecting a familiar scoreline to emerge here.
