Chiyangwa speaks on Nyore Nyore housing project

Dr. Phillip Chiyangwa, property mogul and chairman of the Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme and Pinnacle Property Holdings, is on a mission to make homeownership in Zimbabwe safe, affordable, and hassle-free.
For years, aspiring homeowners have been hesitant to buy land, fearing scams and fraudulent land barons who have left many in financial ruin.
But Chiyangwa insists that with the right systems in place, securing a residential or commercial stand is not just possible—it’s simple.
The Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme was created to address the country’s housing shortage while protecting buyers from fraud. The initiative offers affordable homeownership solutions tailored to different income levels.
Chiyangwa describes it as “it’s that easy,” emphasizing its goal of providing secure property ownership for all.
Speaking to Business Times, Chiyangwa shared his personal experience with land barons and expressed empathy for those who have been defrauded.
“I lost vast properties, which was painful, and I would never want anyone to go through that,” he said.
Determined to help others avoid similar losses, Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme offers flexible payment plans, allowing buyers to start with small amounts and gradually pay off their stands. Chiyangwa also highlighted partnerships with reputable banks and government support to ensure secure transactions.
“Simply deposit your money with one of our partner banks—Steward Bank, NMB, or CBZ Bank—and you’ll receive your title deeds,” he explained.
The government has also purchased stands to facilitate homeownership for civil servants, reinforcing Chiyangwa’s message that this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Chiyangwa’s vision aligns with the New Dispensation’s commitment to providing inclusive housing solutions as Zimbabwe works toward becoming an upper-middle-income economy.
“Our terms are flexible, and we believe in contributing to national development through housing delivery,” he said.
The project covers 590 hectares in Manyame, just behind Chitungwiza, and has partnered with CBZ, Seeff Properties, and Bitumen World to develop a modern, fully serviced community. Chiyangwa describes it as a self-sustaining gated community, complete with essential infrastructure, including roads, hospitals, and schools, many of which are nearing completion.
“It’s like bringing a town to a rural area—it’s a gated community where residents can enjoy the amenities of a larger suburb,” he said.
The Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme is set to release 250,000 stands for sale, with an additional one million even expected in the future.
