Everything You Need To Know About The Joshua Vs Fury Offers Presented Today

The much-awaited Joshua vs Fury offers will be presented to both Team Fury and Team Joshua today in a proposal. Joshua vs Fury has been negotiated for almost a year now and a 50/50 split was agreed as early as last June but due to the pandemic, contractual and mandatory issues negotiations have been conducted at a much slower pace.

An announcement for Joshua vs Fury will be imminent as soon as the offers are looked over by both sides and a location is chosen.

How Did Joshua vs Fury get to this point?

Anthony Joshua And Tyson Fury Unexpectedly Run Into Each Other In Marbella

In June of last year, Team Fury and Team Joshua discussed details for Joshua vs Fury for the first time ever and controversial MTK Advisor Daniel Kinahan played a major role in agreeing on financial terms for Joshua vs Fury to take place as a two-fight deal.

In August, WBC Interim Champion Dillian Whyte suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Alexander Povetkin removing a major obstacle in the form of the WBC mandatory from the Joshua vs Fury fight taking place.

Whyte has now avenged that defeat in his rematch with Povetkin and will be calling a shot as soon as possible but this will not be a problem for Joshua vs Fury 1. Deontay Wilder was contracted to fight Tyson Fury but Team Fury have claimed that the contract expired in November of last year and Fury’s obligation to Wilder is no longer a concern.

There is currently a mediation taking place for this but no resolution is expected before Joshua Fury 1. In December of last year Anthony Joshua brutally KO’d IBF Mandatory Challenger Kubrat Pulev and with Fury not scheduled to compete and the WBO allowing Joshua Fury to take place; there was no more chance of losing this fight.

Joshua vs Fury: 2021 Onwards

Bob Arum Left Promoter For Tyson Fury And Eddie Hearn Right Promoter For Anthony Joshua Negotiated Joshua Vs Fury

After Joshua-Pulev, Team Fury (Top Rank) and Team Joshua (Matchroom) began negotiations in January 2021 and attempted to agree on terms for Joshua vs Fury. After 2 months of negotiations, in March of 2021, they finally agreed on all terms for the fight and signed a contract.

Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum then went to market with Joshua vs Fury and conducted ‘due diligence on all sites offering to host the fight of which they were approximately 9. The contract signed indicated that the promoters had 30 days to present both teams with offers for this fight and those 30 days end today.

Today Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will be presented with multiple offers for their mega-fight in July. It is believed that the offers will include the financial details, dates, location etc for all potential venues and Team Fury and Team Joshua must now collectively agree on one site for July 2021.

What is in the Joshua vs Fury proposal?

Where Will Joshua Vs Fury Take Place?

Promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Joshua vs Fury will not take place until after the euros which means that July 3 and 10 are excluded as a result. The fight is expected to be in July which means the only available Saturdays are July 17, July 24 and 31.

Different countries will want different dates. The Countries in the running are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, UK, the USA and Russia. It is believed that a big underdog in this is the UK which is where the fight should take place but the finances and Covid situation make it the least desirable.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has clarified that he would love Joshua vs Fury to take place at Wembley and will do everything possible to make that happen if 100,000 people are safe to be in a stadium on the proposed date of July 24. The most likely venue is still Saudi Arabia and is likely to offer the most money as well as being the easiest logistically.

This is due to Eddie Hearn already staging an event in Saudi Arabia in 2019 (Joshua-Ruiz 2) and having a good working relationship with Prince Khalid who would play a crucial role in setting up the event.

AJ and his Management and Fury and MTK are expected to look over the offers today and over this week and both Promoters will discuss this in the coming week with an announcement expected as soon as they can both agree on a venue.
