Man City XI vs Manchester United: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for FA Cup final
City face rivals Manchester United in the first-ever Manchester derby FA Cup final in the competition’s 152-year history.
Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias all stayed in Manchester as a precaution due to a mixture of minor injuries and fitness concerns as City lost their final game of a triumphant Premier League season to Brentford.
But, speaking to reporters on Friday, Guardiola was upbeat over his key players: “They trained well the last two training sessions. They are more or less fine.”
Erling Haaland, Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva are all set to return to the XI after being rested at Brentford.
Guardiola also confirmed that back-up goalkeeper, as expected, will play the final.
He told reporters: “Yeah, he’s going to play. It’s always been the same in the cups, even with Barcelona and Munich, so he’s going to play in the FA Cup.”
Predicted Manchester City XI (3-2-4-1): Ortega; Walker, Dias, Akanji; Stones, Rodri; Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish; Haaland.
