YouTube apologies get taken to a ridiculous new level in ‘SNL’ parody

[adrotate group="8"]

With so many internet personalities attempting to apologize via the medium of YouTube after royally (and sometimes criminally) messing up in recent years, Saturday Night Live had a lot to work with in this sketch about YouTube apologies.

From David Dobrik to Laura Lee to Jeffree Star to Logan Paul, the YouTube apology has become a storied symbol of tone-deaf attempts to save face and move on as quickly as possible. Starring Kyle Mooney and host Daniel Kaluuya, this take on the phenomenon perfectly exemplifies many creators’ lack of awareness after hurting, harassing, assaulting, or otherwise damaging other people.

SNL doesn’t dig too deep into some of the more heinous actions that YouTube creators have been accused of, but between hitting each other with TVs and alluding to a video where Kaluuya’s character is tricked into kissing Mooney’s character’s penis, they covered their bases pretty well.
