Fynite Drops ‘Southern Amapiano Vol 1’ Compilation EP ft. MFR Souls, Khanyisa, Marcus MC, UPZ & Black Motion
MFR Souls, Khanyisa, Marcus MC, UPZ, and Black Motion are amongst the artists on Fynite’s debut compilation EP, an impressive feat for up-and-coming Afro-genre producer Fynite.
The EP titled ‘Southern Amapiano Vol 1‘ includes the hit single ‘Bheka Mina Ngedwa’ by Khanyisa & Marcus MC & Lady Du, as well as various underground favorites and remixes including ‘Afrika Wo-man’ by UPZ & Black Motion single recently reworked by Fynite into a dark and moody affair, and Obi Sanaa‘s debut ‘Walking on Water’ feat Sofiya Nzau with it’s unique AI video that has been described as a ‘love poem for Africa.’
“I’m a huge fan of these artists and it was an honor for me to have collaborated with the likes of MFR Souls, Marcus MC and Black Motion and thought it would be dope to compile a short EP of these tracks and re-showcase them,” says Cape Town based Fynite.
Any favorite single amongst the EP? “I love them all haha” he replies “but If I had to choose I would say ‘Sthandwa Sami’ feat Bassie by MFR Souls that also masterfully samples UPZ’s ‘Pure Surprise.’
In addition to the EP, Fynite just released his first original single for 2023, “God’s Finger’ feat MC & Pupa Tee that sees MC delivering a soaring indie-influenced vocal on Fynite’s soulful amapiano production topped with an emotional melodic hook & lyrics exploring themes of cycles, yearning and perseverance.
MC is reinforced by Pupa Tee from Nigeria who adds a spiritual edge to the lyric with his spoken word and Dancehall influenced vocal style in Pidgin & Patwah and the two vocalists blend perfectly like Yin and Yang meshing into a melodic and lyrical whole.
‘God’s finger‘ forms part of Fynite’s debut EP of all original music scheduled for release later this year on soWHAT records, a boutique South African label that has also released productions by Qness, DJ Ganyani, Black Coffee, Sio, UPZ, Cuebur and more.
Southern Amapiano EP is now available on all stores as is ‘God’s Finger’.
