The transfer window is heating up nicely as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham all compete for a number of early summer signings. Arsenal are leading the way at the moment after reportedly confirming their plan for a new Declan Rice bid amid a fierce battle with Manchester City, while they are also plotting an imminent fresh offer for Jurrien Timber at Ajax.
The Gunners are also rumoured to have reached an initial agreement with Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia as Kai Havertz prepares to undergo a medical this weekend. Nicolas Jackson will do likewise at Chelsea, who have held positive talks over the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
Manchester United have seen a third bid for Mason Mount rejected with Chelsea proposing an intriguing counter-offer, with talks ongoing over Andre Onana. Arsenalโs transfer plans certainly donโt begin and end with just Declan Rice.
The Gunners could splurge ยฃ200m on strengthening Mikel Artetaโs squad for another Premier League title push next term, with Ajax defender Jurrien Timber also firmly in their sights.
Arsenal have already seen one bid for the Dutch international rejected, though Fabrizio Romano reports that a second offer is now being prepared.
He says the proposal will be tabled soon, having already got the green light from Timber himself. It seems that Arteta is very keen on the deal personally.
Chelsea medical today for Nicolas Jackson
Speaking of Chelsea, Nicolas Jackson is due to undergo his medical at the club today.
The Senegal forward is set to move to Stamford Bridge following his promising form in LaLiga, with talks still ongoing yesterday with Villarreal over the exact payment structure of a transfer worth around ยฃ30m.
Jackson is believed to have agreed a long-term contract with Chelsea as he follows French striker Christopher Nkunku to west London.

Arsenal look set to launch their latest move for Declan Rice.
The Gunners have thus far seen two bids for their top summer target rejected by West Ham and now have serious rival interest from Manchester City to contend with.
Arsenal are determined not to lose the race for Rice, who is believed to still be keen on a move to the Emirates.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have now confirmed their plan to West Ham that one final bid will be made soon, while City are still preparing their first offer.
Chelsea reject latest Mount bid
Chelsea have rejected Manchester Unitedโs third bid for Mason Mount.
That was an offer of ยฃ50m plus ยฃ5m in add-ons, one that Chelsea have turned down and instead asked for ยฃ58m with a further ยฃ7m in add-ons.
Itโs reported that the Blues have offered to meet with United in an attempt to come to an agreement as quickly as possible.

Thatโs according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the Blues initially intended to bid for the Brighton midfielder this week, but had their attention turned to agreeing exits for the likes of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech.
Itโs believed that Chelsea will soon make their move for Caicedo though, and they remain confident that they are in pole position.
Nketiah considers Arsenal future
Eddie Nketiah is reportedly concerned about the expected arrival of Kai Havertz at Arsenal.
The Sun reports that the 24-year-old wants regular first-team football and fears that the signing of Havertz, who will have a medical this weekend ahead of completing his ยฃ65m move, pushes him further down the pecking order.
Crystal Palace and West Ham have been put forward as possible destinations should Nketiah leave the Gunners this summer.
Nkunku has done his research
Christopher Nkunku has revealed his excitement to work with Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea, after speaking to players who have previously played under him.
The 25-year-oldโs move to Stamford Bridge was officially confirmed earlier this week, joining from RB Leipzig on a six-year-deal for a fee in the region of ยฃ53million.
Nkunku signed a pre-contract agreement in December, when Chelsea were managed by Graham Potter, but it will be Pochettino in the dugout when the Frenchman makes his first appearance for the club.
While he has not yet had a conversation with his new manager, Nkunku revealed he has discussed Pochettino with some of the PSG players the Argentine managed during his time in France.

โI spoke to some of my friends from Paris about him a little bit. I speak about him a little bit with some of the players. They told me that heโs a very good coach and Iโm excited to work with him.โ
Tonali wanted to stay at Milan
Reports in Italy have claimed that Sandro Tonali wanted to remain an AC Milan.
The midfielder is on the verge of completing a move to Newcastle for a fee in the region of โฌ70m, as the Magpies prepare for life in the Champions League.
La Repubblica report that Tonali broke down in tears when he was told by Milan that he would be sold, with the club deciding they had to take the money on offer.
