Spurs edge closer to Raya deal
Tottenham are close to agreeing personal terms with Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Spurs have identified Raya as their primary target to replace Hugo Lloris, who is set to leave this summer after 11 years and more than 400 appearances for the club.
But Spurs and Brentford remain apart in their valuation of the 27-year-old Spaniard. Brentford want £40million, but Spurs are reluctant to meet that asking price and hope to negotiate a lower fee.
Manchester United and Chelsea have also registered interest in Raya, but Spurs want to secure a deal for a player who has one year left on his contract.

Spurs fall behind in Maddison race
Newcastle are leading the race to sign James Maddison ahead of Tottenham, despite new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou driving interest in the Leicester midfielder, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
Maddison will be sold by Leicester this summer following their relegation and Spurs have registered an interest in the 26-year-old as they target a creative playmaker this summer.
Postecoglou is thought to have given Spurs the green light to move for Maddison but Newcastle are frontrunners to sign the 26-year-old.
Newcastle can offer him Champions League football next season and believe he would be receptive to the idea of making the move to the North East.
