Ilkay Gundogan to Arsenal latest

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan broke his silence on his future after scoring a brace in the FA Cup final.

The German is a target for Arsenal and Barcelona this summer.

“To be honest I don’t need these kind of days to feel appreciated and to feel special in this club,” he said.

“I know that, that is why I am here already seven years with all the ups and downs I’ve had so far. Nothing is decided yet so we’re gonna see what’s going to happen.”

Chelsea to offer Mendy in Onana swap deal

Andre Onana is another potential incoming at Chelsea this summer.

Along with the likes of Brentford’s David Raya and Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel, the Cameroon international, 27, is one of several goalkeepers under discussion at Stamford Bridge.

And according to Foot Mercato, Chelsea are ready to offer Edouard Mendy plus cash for Onana, who is supposedly the favoured target of incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Manchester United are among a host of other clubs linked with Onana, who only joined Inter on a free transfer last summer after leaving Ajax.

The future of €50m-rated Onana is likely to be decided after Inter’s Champions League final clash with Manchester City in Istanbul on Saturday.

PSG to match Chelsea’s Ugarte deal?

A lot of interesting reporting on the Manuel Ugarte front tonight.

Transfer specialist Santi Aouna claims that the Uruguayan already has an agreement with PSG on a contract until the summer of 2028.

He says that Sporting Lisbon want the French giants to match Chelsea’s €60m deal, which has been agreed.

This particular transfer race might not be over just yet…

Nkunku offers Chelsea exciting glimpse of future

One player we know for sure will be joining Chelsea this summer is Christopher Nkunku.

The French forward agreed a deal with the Blues last year that will see him arrive at Stamford Bridge in the next few weeks for a fee of ÂŁ53m.

And Nkunku – the joint-highest scorer in the Bundesliga this term – delivered a further glimpse of what he could offer goal-shy Chelsea in Saturday evening’s German Cup final, netting his 23rd of the season and later assisting Dominik Szoboszlai at Berlin’s Olympiastadion as RB Leipzig retained the DFB-Pokal trophy with a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Postecoglou update with Spurs to step up interest

Ange Postecoglou is remaining tight-lipped on his Celtic future amid strong interest from Tottenham.

Standard Sport understands that Spurs are set to step up their interest in the Australian after Saturday’s Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park, which Celtic won 3-1 against Inverness Caledonian Thistle to seal their eighth domestic Treble.

But Postecoglou is still giving nothing away as to his plans.

“I understand all that (the questions), but I am going to be a little bit selfish here, not just for myself but my family and people around me, we have all worked really hard to enjoy this moment,” he told BBC Scotland.

“As disappointing as that may be for people, that is what I am going to do. We have worked too hard as players and managers.

“If I again start talking about things right now that aren’t really important to me and those people around me, so I am just enjoying this and will do for as long as I can before people drag me away to talk about other things.”

Postecoglou added: “It has felt like a long season, maybe because of the World Cup break. Our performances have tailed off in the past few weeks, the lads are feeling it was well.

“I am just super proud of them and am amazed at the levels they have created. I think everyone is looking forward to a break.”

Chelsea ‘very confident’ on Manuel Ugarte deal

Manuel Ugarte to Chelsea is not quite done yet, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Portuguese outlet Record have claimed tonight that the summer deal to take Sporting Lisbon’s Uruguayan midfielder to Stamford Bridge as Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing is now agreed.

However, transfer guru Romano says that while Chelsea are advancing the deal and remain very confident of getting it over the line, there are still details left to be ironed out.

He adds that the Blues are taking a cautious approach until they have all the relevant documentation sent and signed, looking to avoid a repeat of the Enzo Fernandez saga with Benfica that went right down to the wire on deadline day in January.

Chelsea to make Ugarte first Pochettino signing

To clarify, Manuel Ugarte currently has a release clause in his Sporting Lisbon contract worth €60m.

The race between PSG and Chelsea seems to have been about who would be willing to sweeten the pot the most on top of that.

Sport Witness report that both clubs were prepared to pay the same amount over, with PSG presenting a much better financial package to the player himself.

However, it is being reported that Ugarte has chosen Chelsea as he wants to test himself at the highest level in the Premier League.

A huge early win for Pochettino, and over the club who sacked him last summer.
