DJY Biza ‘The Piano Mediator’ Drops ‘Ta’Biza’ – An Ode From His Fans

The countdown is on for DJY Biza’s debut EP titled Kgosi that is set to drop later this month. The Pretoria West native, who has been dubbed ‘The Piano Meditator, kicks off the countdown with his new single Ta’Biza featuring Wels. The single is an ode to Biza and juxtaposition from his fans, a young DJ creating music ahead of his age.

The young Amapiano DJ, Producer and occasional vocalist describes the inspiration behind his latest single – “Basically, the song is all about me… as it is also titled after my name.”

The term ‘Ta,’ is normally used as a term of respect, he further explained, “It was just a random day in the studio when I started a project. Wels told me about the concept he had, and I instantly liked it. From there, he hopped on it. It was an incredible experience working with Wels, and ‘Ta’Biza’ became the first song we created together.”

DJY Biza’s upcoming self-titled EP, ‘Kgosi,’ promises to deliver a collection of tracks that showcase his extraordinary talent and creativity, “I call it a meditated mix, because there are some healing sounds”. Audiences can expect to hear Amapiano infused with Black Is Brown’s Mozambique signature sound, topping it with DJ Biza’s upper cut and swing vibe.

DJY Biza is responsible for setting many dancefloors ablaze, having worked on tracks like ‘Jeke Maan’, ‘Hade’, ‘Sgijardi’, ‘Ba Bize’ and ‘Bafo’ under the Black Is Brown record label. To date,this emerging talent has shown great potential and definite signs of becoming one of Amapiano’s top hit-makers.

DJY Biza, whose real name is Kgosietsile Kalakgosi, got into music purely for the love of music, and wants to bring something new to people’s ears. He met JazziQ through Mellow & Sleazy, who he initiaally taught how to DJ.

Sleazy called him into the studio with JazziQ and he’s been working with JazziQ since. He signed to the Black Is Brown label in 2021.
