About Nicholas Arumugam

Durban born and raised singer, Nicholas Arumugam, fell in love with music from a very young age. He took the opportunity as a child to sing anywhere and everywhere he possibly could.

He cherishes fond memories of his father playing Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and many other musical greats in his father’s taxi, and of his uncle who would play Bob Marley records.

His musical career started at the age of thirteen when his father asked him to lead praise and worship at his church which he gladly accepted. He has strong roots in gospel music with pop influences. After completing high school Nicholas knew that music would be the direction he wanted to take in life.

Nicholas recorded a cover version in 2020 of the Selena Gomez song – ‘Lose you to love me back’.

His debut release was a single in 2020 called ‘Label’. He went on to release his second single ‘Duet’ in 2021 which he co-wrote with well known Singer & songwriter Andrew Sutton. Nicholas was in his element working on all of these projects at Andrew’s Durban home studio. He has now released a new cover of the Harry Styles song ‘Falling’, beautifully showcasing his vocal ability. The track includes the official music video which you can view HERE.

It is Nicholas’s dream to do a tour around the country and also write more original material to eventually release his debut album. Definitely a voice we would love to hear on the radio!
