Mpumalanga – the place where not only the sun rises, but also where Saturn Media House rises as the first Mpumalanga production company committed to delivering a diverse range of content showcasing this captivating province.
The creative-dynamic team is led by Janine Moller, a seasoned producer with experience in notable productions like Platteland, Racheltjie de Beer, and Modder en Bloed. With the support of local key role players, thei dedicated team is already hard at work, producing high-profile projects that are educational, inspiring, and entertaining.
The province boasts a rich history, from the exciting Alluvial gold rush to the timeless tales of Jock of the Bushveld. The remarkable Makhonjwa Mountains, with their age exceeding 3.5 billion years, are aptly referred to as the “Genesis of Life.” Furthermore, Mpumalanga is a melting pot of cultures, encompassing vibrant communities such as the Swazi, Ndebele, Afrikaans, Tsonga, Zulu, Mapulana, Portuguese, and Pedi. The fusion of these cultures is evident in the captivating stories that will be told.

Shepherd’s Sofa is Saturn Media House’s first fully-fledged TV production in partnership with DStv and will showcase themes like agriculture, adventure, art and culture, vibrant history and hidden jewels.
Sareta Schutte will be hosting expert guests in studio and together you’ll hear residents of all walks of life tell their uplifting stories, echoing them through the canyons and into your hearts. Hopefully inspiring the world to create their own unforgettable adventures in our beautiful province and establishing the Lowveld as the preferred destination of choice in Southern Africa.
Saturn Media House have invited key individuals, influential groups, members of the political, financial and the media sector to their black-tie launch on Friday 23 June 2023 at Arch and Arrow, White River.
Camera flashes and a 45m red carpet will welcome the who’s who of Mpumalanga that have an exciting evening waiting for them and even a short premiere of season 1 of Shepherd’s Sofa.
