Zim GDP soars to US$47bn :ED

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said Zimbabwe’s economy is growing despite being subjected to illegal economic sanctions , climate change and droughts that the country is currently experiencing.
The President said that the GDP of the country has surpassed US$47bn, having increased from US$16bn in 2018.
He made the remarks on Thursday during the 44th Independence Day celebrations in Murambinda, Buhera district, Manicaland Province.
The President also said , despite the efforts of those who wish to see Zimbabwe fail, the country at 44 years old, is significantly ahead of its peers in the region in infrastructure development projects that are funded by the government without outside assistance, and has been one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa.
“The overall economic outlook remains bright. Our country’s GDP now exceeds US$47bn, up from US$16bn in 2018.
“This shows that we, descendants of the Great Munhumutapa, are resilient, focused, determined, and hardworking people. Zimbabwe is winning,”President Mnangagwa said.
