ZITF official opening moved to Saturday

PHILLIMON MHLANGA IN BULAWAYO

The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF)’s official opening, which was supposed to take place in Bulawayo tomorrow, has been rescheduled to Saturday at 10AM  because of unpredictable weather in East Africa.

Kenyan President, Dr William Ruto, is scheduled to officially open the 64th edition of the ZITF.

The latest development was disclosed by ZITF board chairman, Busisa Moyo.

“The official opening of the ZITF, which was supposed to take place at 2pm tomorrow has been moved to Saturday. There have been excessive rains in East Africa, so our Guest of Honour Dr (William) Ruto has delayed coming here,” Moyo said.

According to reports from Kenya, President Ruto this morning presided over the emergency multi agency response  team on flooding at the State House in Nairobi , Kenya.

Although the country has benefitted much from the rains, the President noted that  there is still risk of flooding in some areas.

He said is important for the multi-agency team to be proactive in dealing with the crisis.
