DJY Biza, ‘The Piano Meditator’ Drops Debut EP ‘Kgosi’

The wait is over, DJY Biza’s debut EP ‘Kgosi‘ is finally available for streaming across all digital platforms.

The Pretoria West native, who has been dubbed The Piano Meditator, kicked off the countdown with his new single Ta’Biza featuring Wels. The single is an ode to Biza and a juxtaposition from his fans, a young DJ creating music ahead of his age.

Biza has delivered a collection of tracks that showcase his extraordinary talent and creativity.  “I call it a meditated mix because there are some healing sounds”, he explained.

The EP houses the sounds of Amapiano, infused with Black Is Brown’s Mozambique signature sound which meets DJ Biza’s uppercut and swing vibe.

DJY Biza Breaks the EP down for us in his own words

Bizaza

This one is a revisit I made from the first version I created which was part of Mr. JazziQ’s Last project (All You Need Is Piano). The vision behind this version was to bring it back up with more fire. Introducing unique elements. This time, I was the one singing on the vocals.

Tatane Biza

This is my favourite song off the project, and this is also a song whereby the vocalist I featured was honouring my sound. I had to make sure I gave it a unique feel and the vocals fitted perfectly with the beat.

Oksalayo Siya Jola

I made this song with Jazza MusiQ, Star’Jazz and Kgocee

I got the beat from Jazza MusiQ and it already had Kgocee’s vocals. I changed the beat and gave it a more “uplifting mood” and dance vibe, then Star’Jazz completed the beat.

Mali

I initially started the beat to this song with Jandas, then we invited Lwami to the studio. He understood the assignment and gave the beat more meaning through his amazing voice. I believe this is a song of hope and he actually came about with the whole concept lyrically and Shoes followed him from there onwards.

Khuluma Nami

The day this song was produced and recorded, Pcee actually came to me and said that he wants to spend the day with me in studio and he watched me create the beat from scratch. He already had a concept for the song. The song has a bit of a sad emotion, and he layered on the perfect vocals for the beat.

Hotlaba Monate

This song gives a Sgija & Moza type of vibe, and how the track came about is so cool. I was in a really good mood that day. I made the song just before I headed to my gigs. I had such a good feeling about the day that’s why I ended up naming it “Hotlaba Monate” which basically means “we’re gonna have fun”

Nolwazi

This was a beat I made that was in my archives. That day I had planned a studio session with both the vocalists.  I actually knew that both of them would the perfect fit for the song, Sinovuyo & Kush both came up with concepts which were more or less similar, and we just mashed it up together and it became a complete song.
